Responder ShieldTech

Antimicrobial, Anti-Odor, Water Repellant Seat Covers for First Responders

ANTIMICROBIAL SEAT COVERS?

Responder ShieldTech is like our Tactical seat covers on steroids.  They’re made from the same 1000 denier Cordura but with an antimicrobial, anti-odor, and moisture-wicking treatment.

They’re beefed up with the same Ironband as our Tactical seat covers because they’re built specifically for First Responders.  They’re waterproof, almost indestructible, and they literally kill germs.

Responder ShieldTech is the perfect for First Responders because it literally starves, suffocates, and sterilizes germs so you don’t get nasty stuff growing in your seats and getting you sick.  The fact that killing those germs also eliminates odors is a benefit as well!

In lab testing with S. aureus and K. pneumoniae organisms, ShieldTech eliminated 99.99% of organism growth in a 24-hour period, compared to untreated fabric.

HOW’S IT WORK?

The coating utilizes silver and copper ions (which have been used since 4000 BC to kill bacteria)  in a zeolite carrier to starve, sterilize, and suffocate microbes.

A zeolite carrier is a microporous, three-dimensional crystalline solid of aluminum silicate that’s been charged with ions of the active ingredient (silver and copper, in this case)  Zeolites are naturally occurring and born of volcanic ash.

The antimicrobial effects are only released when needed in order to have the longest-lasting effects.  It’s been tested to be effective after 100 machine washes.

All samples were tested with K. pneumoniae, an organism that causes Pneumonia. All samples had the same organism count at zero contact time. “Washes” signifies the number of times the sample was washed to simulate real-world use. Wet tests were performed in a wet environment, dry tests were performed in a dry environment. Test results have been simplified for ease of understanding, full lab results are available upon request.

Who Needs Responder ShieldTech?

EMS

This goes without saying but who comes into contact with more nefarious germs in a day than the heroes in an ambulance?  Not many people.

Having antimicrobial seat covers that go to work killing stray germs that get drug into the rig is an extra step towards keeping the folks on the front line safe and healthy.

The Ironband reinforcement in the lower 1/3 of the seat back ensures that your radio or anything worn on your belt will never wear holes in your truck’s seats.

Law Enforcement

As with the EMS folks, having a set of antimicrobial seat covers provides an extra barrier against spreading illness by stopping germs from multiplying.

You’ll really appreciate the anti-odor feature if you’re hot-seating your cars and it rarely smells like “fresh linen” after 12 hours on duty.  Not saying that we can make it smell new but ShieldTech does kill odor causing microbes!

The Ironband in the seat back provides an extra layer of protection between your duty belt and your seat, ensuring you never end up with foam and metal gaping from a hole in the seat.

Fire Departments

The anti-odor feature of the ShieldTech Responder seat covers is great for fire departments because it kills the “wet sock” odor that you’re used to from seats getting wet when you get in with damp gear.  ShieldTech kills the microbes that cause that odor and make the truck a lot nicer to get into tomorrow morning.

Having an active germ-killer in the seat at all times is great too!

The Ironband reinforcing the lower 1/3 of the seat back ensures that your radio, flashlight, or anything worn on your belt will never wear holes in your vehicle’s seat.

The IronBand

The Ironband is the reinforcement we build into the Tactical and Responder ShieldTech seat covers for First Responders’ vehicles. We beef up the cover in the highest impact area of the seat (the lower ⅓ of the seat back) to provide extra protection from radios, lights, duty belts, and weapons.

Basically, we took the toughest seat covers out there, added extra reinforcement, and gave them the ability to kill germs.

You don’t need to worry about torn seats anymore. We’ve got this.

Make sure it’s love at first sight
